What is Prehabilitation?

Prehabilitation (or prehab) is a proactive approach to health and movement. It focuses on improving strength, balance, mobility and overall physical capacity before a significant decline, injury or medical intervention occurs.

While prehab is commonly used before surgery, it is not limited to surgical preparation. It can be used anytime early intervention may reduce future injury, functional decline or the need for more intensive rehabilitation.
