Build Strong Movement Foundations for Adulthood
Adolescence and young adulthood are periods of rapid physical change, increased training demands and growing independence. During these years, changes in growth, sport participation, study and work can all place stress on the body.
At Stay Active, our Adolescent & Young Adult Health service provides exercise physiology support tailored to individuals in their teenage years and early adulthood. We focus on building strength, improving movement quality and supporting safe participation in sport, exercise and daily activities.
Why Support During These Years Matters
During adolescence and early adulthood, the body is adapting to growth, load and lifestyle changes. Targeted exercise support can help to:

-
Develop strength and movement control safely
-
Manage training load and reduce injury risk
-
Address pain or recurring injuries
-
Support return to sport or exercise after injury
-
Improve confidence with movement and physical activity
-
Build habits that support long-term physical health

Early, appropriate guidance can help prevent ongoing issues later in life.
Our
Approach
1. Initial Assessment
We start with a detailed assessment that considers growth history, current activity levels, sport or training demands, injury history and individual goals.

2. Individualised Exercise Program
Programs are tailored to the individual and may focus on strength, coordination, mobility, balance and movement efficiency relevant to their activities, sport or daily life.

3. In-Home & Community-Based Sessions
Sessions are delivered one-on-one in the home or a suitable community setting, providing a practical and comfortable environment for focused support.

4. Ongoing Support & Progression
Programs are progressed appropriately as strength, capacity and confidence improve, with regular review to ensure exercises remain suitable as demands change.
