The post-partum period is a time of significant physical change. Recovery looks different for everyone, and returning to movement should be guided, progressive and individual.

At Stay Active, our Post-Partum Health service supports recovery after pregnancy and birth through tailored exercise physiology. We focus on restoring strength, improving functional movement, and supporting your return to activity in a safe and considered way.

Whether you are newly post-partum or months (or years) down the track, our team works with you to build a strong foundation for long-term health and movement.

Why Post-Partum Care Matters

Pregnancy and birth place significant demands on the body. Targeted exercise can help to:

  • Restore core and pelvic floor function

  • Improve strength, posture and stability

  • Address back, hip or pelvic pain

  • Support recovery from caesarean or vaginal birth

  • Improve confidence with movement and exercise

  • Support a safe return to work, sport or daily activities

A structured, individual approach helps ensure recovery is effective and appropriate for your body.

Our
Approach 

1. Initial Assessment
We begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand your pregnancy and birth history, current symptoms, movement capacity and goals. This allows us to design a program that is appropriate for your stage of recovery.

2. Individualised Exercise Program
Your program
may focus on core control, pelvic floor integration, strength, mobility and functional movement relevant to daily tasks and caring for your baby.

​

3. In-Home Sessions
Sessions are delivered one-on-one in your home, removing the need to travel and allowing exercises to fit realistically into your routine.

​

4. Ongoing Support & Progression
As your strength and capacity improve, your program is progressed to support a confident return to higher-level activity, exercise or sport if desired.

Who Is This Service For? 

Post-Partum Health services may be suitable if you:

​

  • Are recovering after pregnancy or birth

  • Experience pain, weakness or instability

  • Want guidance returning to exercise safely

  • Have had a caesarean section or complex delivery

  • Are managing pelvic floor or core concerns

  • Want structured, professional support post-partum

​

You do not need to be newly post-partum, support can be beneficial at any stage after birth.

Private Health rebates are available.
